Bluesfest 2009 lineup announced.

Today the first 30 performers scheduled to play the 2009 Ottawa Bluesfest were announced. The acts include... Cake, Stone Temple Pilots, KISS, Live, Ludacris, Joe Cocker, The National, Paolo Nutini, Styx, Matisyahu, Ani DiFranco, The Zombies, Our Lady Peace, Loreena McKennitt, Estelle, Neko Case, Jackson Browne, Jeff Beck, Girl Talk, DeVotchKa, Xavier Rudd, Ornette Coleman, Los Lonely Boys, Femi Kuti, Iron And Wine, Blue Rodeo, Toots & The Maytals, Mick Taylor, King Sunny Ade & His African Beats, Spencer Davis, Drive By Truckers, Sam Roberts Band, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings and Alan Parsons Live Project . there are still over 150 more to be announced! This should be a great year.

Allen vs. Charney

Director Woody Allen is suing American Apparel and it's CEO Dov Charney for $10million for using an image of Allen dressed as a hisidic rabi on their advertisments withyout permission. In a recient interview Allen claimed that he wouldnt mind selling himself to a produuct however "it would have to be for a lot of money and a classy, whitty and intelectually cleaver advertisment". American Apparel's lawyers are claiming that issues surronding Allen and Mia Farroow and his merriage to her adopted daughter Soon-Yi has damaged his reputation and therefor he is not worth anywhere near $10million. The trial date has been set for May 18th 2009 at the Manhattan federal court.

The new record by Nas and Damian Marley entitled "distant relatives", which makes reference both to the chemistry and the African background that the two share, is set to drop June 23. There is no way this won't be good. Apparently they have a multi-Continent tour planned as well.
